Celebrating 20 years of the CEnvP Scheme
13 February 2025The CEnvP Scheme is powered by the work of its expert volunteers, including Specialist Environmental Advisory Committee (SEAC) members who shape the standards and continuous improvement of a specialist certification.
In this regular series, we will be highlighting the Scheme’s specialist volunteers to share the work they do and celebrate their outgoing contributions. Here, we profile Annabelle Davis, CEnvP Heritage Specialist (CEnvP-HER) and Heritage SEAC member.

Annabelle is passionate about working with clients and their community stakeholders to develop practical heritage solutions that seek to minimise impacts to cultural heritage.
Why are you passionate about working in the heritage sector?
Heritage, by its very definition, is something that has been passed down from one generation to the next. We can learn a lot from what has happened before us: the good, the bad and the ugly.
We are privileged in Australia to be surrounded by some of the oldest living heritage in the world, as well as amazing natural heritage. It is essential that we work to ensure that Australia’s heritage is protected and managed and can be enjoyed in generations to come. I love working with Traditional Owners across the country to assist to identify, record and manage the amazing heritage assets on their Country.
Why is Heritage certification important to you?
As a heritage practitioner that has worked on many different sides of the heritage industry, ensuring that heritage practitioners are appropriately qualified, experienced, and ethically sound is essential to ensuring that heritage places are appropriately identified, recorded and managed.
Why did you become involved with the Heritage SEAC?
Being an active member of the professional organisations I am a member of is important to me to ensure that I give back to the industry and share ideas about opportunities and improvements for the heritage certification and heritage stream of environmental impact assessment more broadly.
As the only current CEnvP Heritage Specialist in Western Australia, I also feel it is also essential that we have WA voices represented to ensure that things that are important to WA heritage professionals are considered.
