2024 Award Winners
Two esteemed environmental practitioners have been honoured with the 2024 CEnvP Scheme Service Award. The winners were announced by Maria Pedicini, Chair of the Certification Board, during the 2024 EIANZ Annual Conference in Sydney.
Joanne Flint, FEIANZ CEnvP
Joanne, a Certified Environmental Practitioner with over 30 years of extensive experience across international and Australian contexts, has made significant contributions across energy, water infrastructure, oil and gas, mining, and manufacturing sectors. Her leadership has spanned technical, management, and advisory roles, where she has championed environmental policy, compliance systems, and environmental risk management. “With a focus on transformational change and biodiversity conservation, my commitment is to guide strategic environmental practices that balance development with sustainability,” Joanne noted. She holds a Fellowship from Engineers Australia and brings a deep commitment to the CEnvP’s mission.
Warren Pump, FEIANZ CEnvP-SC
Warren, Principal and Director of Salient GeoEnvironmental in Melbourne, brings over 35 years of experience in environmental and geotechnical engineering, with a specialisation in urban renewal and waste management. His work has spanned project management for contaminated site clean-ups, urban infrastructure, and interdisciplinary environmental projects both in Australia and across NE and SE Asia. “The CEnvP certification elevates our standards, ensuring our work not only addresses current issues but secures a healthier environment for future generations,” said Warren, who is also an EPA-accredited Environmental Auditor and a former President of the Australian Contaminated Land Consultants Association.

The story behind the CEnvP Scheme Service Award
Between the years 2007 through to 2018, the CEnvP Scheme presented the Environmental Practitioner of the Year Award in recognition of an individual’s outstanding contribution to environmental practice.
After review of the award program, the CEnvP Board endorsed a proposal to recognise the contributions and service of individuals specific to the CEnvP Scheme.
The contribution of our dedicated volunteers each year is an integral part of the CEnvP Scheme’s sustained growth and continued development.
Volunteers provide unpaid support and input to the scheme through a variety of mechanisms; from interviews and application reviews, to certification development, support activities and more. The contribution of these individuals is greatly valued by the CEnvP Scheme and is an integral part of ensuring a contemporary and robust certification program.
The CEnvP Scheme Service Award celebrates the outstanding volunteer contribution an individual has made to the values, success, and development of the Certified Environmental Practitioner Scheme in the areas of initiative, positive leadership, reliability and technical values.
The nominator or nominee is not required to be a certified practitioner themselves, as the award recognises the contribution made by the volunteer to the Scheme. For example, this award can also recognise a CEnvP Alumni or a member of a CEnvP stakeholder group such as a Specialist Environmental Advisory Committee (SEAC).
