To maintain CEnvP status, certified practitioners are required to:

Remain up to date with annual renewal fees
Apply for recertification every two years by submitting an online form

What is the Recertification Process?

It is the process of reassessing your certification every two years to ensure you continue to meet the criteria for certification and remain current in your field of practice.

What do you need to do?

To apply for recertification, you need to complete an online recertification form.

Recertification Process Timeline

The recertification process begins in March each year.

All CEnvPs due for recertification will be notified via email with a link to complete the online recertification form. Regular reminders will also be sent to ensure your form is submitted by the due date.

All recertification forms must be submitted by June 30th.

When are you next due for recertification?

The expiry date on your current CEnvP official certificate indicates when your recertification is due next.

Online Recertification Form

The online form requires that you:

  • Submit a CPD log: as evidence of your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for the previous two consecutive calendar years, totaling 100+ points. Click here for further information on the CPD Guidelines.
  • Verify Changes: confirm any changes in circumstances, including employment, and disclose any issues which may have compromised the high levels of integrity, ethics and professional conduct expected from a certified practitioner since you were last certified.
  • Submit a Statutory Declaration: confirm that:
    • You will continue to meet the criteria of the Certified Environmental Practitioner Scheme for certification in the areas of general and (where applicable) specialist environmental practice.
    • All information provided in support to your recertification application is true and correct.
    • You agree to be bound by The Rules and By-laws of EIANZ with respect to the Scheme, and The EIANZ Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.

In addition, the Scheme has an obligation to audit and verify the contents of a random sample of the CPD logs submitted. If you are chosen for audit, you must also submit documentary evidence with your CPD log.  Accepted evidence includes, but is not limited to, training certificates, records of attendance, receipts, and diary records.
